TOM RUDDY

Tom Ruddy was a lifetime member of the RAMS Motorcycle Club. He was a history maker in the field of engine building for land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats. He also built and tested motorcycles for foreign prototypes as well as teaching classes, having made a large contribution in the field. He could be honestly and lovingly remembered as a speed enthusiast as he liked to participate in racing cars, motorcycles, boats, water skiing and snow skiing, flying sail planes, and sailing and racing catamarans. Tom also had a deep love for music, particularly jazz.

He died in 1996 of lung cancer after a courageous battle. Sandra Ruddy, his wife of 19 years preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters Vicki Rupp, Lynn Kurdy, and Kris Birt and grandchildren Braxon Birt and Sophia Rupp.
