Any race place earned in 1971 on a 125-175 using your 250 "X" plate would place your finishes into the new "C" class. I earned #9X in 1971 which the AMA awarded as a #1 125-175 National and District 37 Desert points leader because of my best 20 rides (click thumbnail pics for photos 7 and 8 above). They decided no separate plates would be issued that year for 1972 so everyone raced using their 250X earned numbers with a C displayed where the X was.
